The Employee Relations Specialist will support the Human Resources Manager with responsibilities related to Employee Relations, in addition to providing general customer service and assistance to employees via phone, email or in-person. The Employee Relations Specialist will also assist with special projects, as needed.


·         Address issues related to employee relations, complaints, grievances, claims and cases
·         Conduct investigations and gather information to assist the HR Manager in addressing ER issues and provide staff guidance                  related to Leaves of Absence, Worker’s Compensation, , etc.
·         Conduct exit interviews, summarize findings, and discuss trends and concerns with HR Manager
·         Assist in the Performance Management process
·         Assist and coordinate training programs related to employee relations and organizational development 
·         Consult with HR Manager on employee relations issues, as needed
·         Assist in taking appropriate steps for resolution in accordance with policies and procedures
·         Implement retention strategies and positive employee relations initiatives
·         Follow all departmental and organizational policies and procedures to ensure compliance with confidentiality of information
          including PHI and HIPAA
·         Ensure all state and federal rules and regulations are followed, as they apply to the position

Qualifications Required

·         Bachelor’s degree in HR, or a related field
·         1 – 3 years of HANDS ON Employee Relations experience in an HR setting
·         Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality of HR and employee relations issues
·         Must possess effective organizational and communication skills (written and verbal), in addition to customer service skills
·         Knowledge and/or basic understanding of California Labor Laws, including FMLA, PDL, Workers Compensation, etc.
·         Professional demeanor, good attitude, reliable. Good analytical and listening skills, with the ability to remain neutral
·         Working knowledge of computers, including experience with a variety of systems and databases (HRIS systems, MS Office and
          other databases)
·         HR or other related certifications a plus
